1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter, room temperature
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup plain yogurt
1-1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1-3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- Preheat oven to 375F.
- In a large bowl, beat brown sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add yogurt and vanilla and beat until well blended. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt, and mix well. Stir in chocolate chips.
- Roll dough into small balls by hand, around 3/4″ to 1″ in diameter, and place on parchment lined baking sheets about 2 inches apart. Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until light golden brown. Cool for 1 minute on tray, then remove and place on wire rack until completely cooled.
